OPIKA is committed to minimising its impact on the environment whilst working towards sustainable business development and social responsibility. We will only work with reputable suppliers and producer groups who are also committed to ethical practices.
OPIKA sources responsibly and where possible uses materials of animal origin that are the by-product of the food industry. Opika also works with fish skins such as salmon and Nile perch.
The python skins Opika uses are sourced ethically and comply with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which is designed to safeguard wild animals and plants. CITES is recognised as the best way of knowing that the husbandry of the animal is taken into account.
OPIKA has a history of working with Fair Trade organisations and small community groups in developing countries helping them to earn a sustainable income.
OPIKA is currently working with Fair Trade Organisation, CMCC in the Philippines to produce the beautiful boxes in which the Waist Jewellery Collection is packaged.
OPIKA believes that it is possible to trade ethically within the fashion industry and not compromise on design and quality.
